Tuur & Flup Marinus & Ariadna Estalella Alba

For years, the brothers Tuur (1981) and Flup (1985) Marinus from Antwerp have teamed up on projects with dancer-performer-artist Ariadna Estalella Alba (Spain). Always from project to project, interdisciplinary and project specific. A Walk In The Sculpture Park (2024) for Middelheim Museum is their first work as a collective.

Dancer-choreographer Tuur Marinus studied painting at Sint-Lucas (Antwerp) and contemporary dance at P.A.R.T.S (Brussels). In his performances he explores the link between choreography and power relations.

Flup Marinus studied audiovisual arts at RITCS (Brussels) and visual arts (cartoon illustration) at LUCA (Brussels). He explores, with humor, the touchpoints between masculinity and monumentality.

Since moving to Antwerp, Ariadna Estalella Alba has been involved with different artistic organisations in contemporary art and performance: including WpZimmer, WorkSpaceBrussels, STORMOPKOMST and De Veerman.

Performance, new work

For the circular path in the museum, the artists developed a special audio track with instructions. Similar to the running app ‘Start to run’, yet more surprising. After all, you don't just walk past works of art from the Middelheim collection. You also interact with your own body and with others. You become the performer and reveal the invisible work. As such, you determine the work's appearance for others.
