More about this work
In A Walk In The Sculpture Park (2024), the performer is you. The work is completely invisible until you, as the visitor, are ready to reveal it.
For the circular path in the Middelheim Museum, designed by Luc Deleu, the brothers Tuur & Flup Marinus teamed up with Ariadna Estalella Alba to develop a special audio track. Hinting at popular apps such as ‘Start to run’ that encourage you to walk or run based on a particular schedule.
Yet the instructions you receive in this recording are somewhat different. They have an element of surprise. You walk in a circle past different works in the Middelheim collection, and get the chance to experience them in a new way. But there is also interaction with your own body, and with others.
As the participant, you are in control. Your gestures can be large or small. You can join in or stop whenever you like. In doing so, you determine the work’s appearance for other visitors.
