Bababuá, 2024

Façade performance (ongoing)

The Brazilian artist Elen Braga unravels myths and how these survive with today's convictions and customs. Against the enormous wall of DE SINGEL, she creates a unique performance. She delved into local stories about giants, from which she developed her own giant. Three dancers struggle at the hands of this enormous figure named 'Bababuá'. Against the backdrop of a burning building, we witness the eternal cycle of power buildup and decay.
